Solar powered wireless EV charging system with Auto boost power and Foreign object detection
Abstract
this study proposes an innovative solution for an automated system that will allow the contactless charging of electric vehicles with enhanced safety and control. The system integrates solar energy with battery backup (hybrid energy) that will supply continuous charging to the vehicle. The system is controlled by an Adriano that ensures the seamless switching of the energy sources, depending on the environmental conditions. TheArduinoUnomicrocontrollerwillcontinuouslymonitor and control the voltage levels by regulating the switching relay. The energy is transferred through coils wirelessly between the transmitter and receiver. The receiver captures the energy and rectifies it to DC and subsequently boosts it to around 12.6V to optimally charge a battery. Safety is enhanced by an integrated metal detection system, which will prevent system operation and contactless charging in the presence of foreign metallic objects between the coils. Other features include a USB socket for vehicle to grid applications, and an LCD for the display of the system’s parameters as it is being charged. There are substantial improvements to existing systems in the areas of safety and dependency on traditional energy sources. The system is also economical and sustainable, fulfilling the requirements for an advanced system of eco friendly, automated integrated transport EV charging systems.
